Review
I am a huge fan of Megan's Love Series, so when I got the opportunity to read an ARC I was all over it. Jaylinn and Cooper are just amazing together and I was so glad to see them finally get their HEA. This is book 5 in the series and I definitely recommend reading the first four books before reading this as all of the characters are in all of the books.
The title of this book really says it all. Cooper was made to love Jaylinn, and she was made to love Cooper. They might be one of my favorite fictional couples ever after reading this installment in the Love series. The obstacles that crossed their path did nothing but make them stronger, as people and as a couple. And that might be one of my favorite things about this book. There wasn't any unnecessary drama, but rather real life situations that real people are faced with every day, proving that true love can conquer all.
As I said earlier, there are plenty of situations in this book that people in real life face every day. Some of them happy, and some of them sad. Me personally, I bawled my eyes out the last 2 chapters. You feel for these characters like they are YOUR family, and that is just one of the reasons that I think Megan is a phenomenal writer. She has the ability to make you feel connected to the characters on a personal level.
All of our favorite boys and girls make their appearances in Made To Love You, including Eli. We get to see Mason and Hailey's wedding which was nice. Also, I'm going out on a limb here and making an assumption that something may be in the works for Jackson and Chloe as well! (how exciting)
You will need tissues for this book, no doubt about it. But I promise you it is worth it! Jaylinn and Cooper are perfect together. They go through so much but the tears are worth the happy ending. This is a series you don't want to miss out on. Bravo, Megan

Chapter Two Chloe
When Jackson goes back outside to do God knows what to the damn truck of his I finish putting all of the groceries away. When that’s done I take the last few bags I got from my shopping trip with MacKenzie upstairs to Alex’s room.
I can’t believe my little man is starting kindergarten on Monday. Where in the hell did the time go? I’m afraid to blink because the next thing I know, Alex will be graduating high school and we’ll be sending him off to college.
I will admit though that I’m a little excited that he’s enrolled in kindergarten full time. My plans are to find a part-time job that works with the hours that he’s at school. I need something to get me out of this house. I need to start making a little of my own money and being independent. This isn’t how I pictured my life. I never wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. That’s just not me. I like feeling like I belong somewhere and that I’ll make a difference somewhere out there in the world. Don’t get me wrong though, I wouldn’t trade Alex in for the world but it’s my time now.
Alex is laying on his bed watching Paw Patrol on his T.V. “Hey, bud, want to see the clothes I got you for school?”
He sits up with a big smile on his face. “Did you get me a lunch box?”
I don’t know what it is with this kid and lunch boxes. He must have about five or six in the closet downstairs but he insists on getting a new one for school. “No, I didn’t get that just yet. Figured you would want to pick it out.”
“Okay, Mommy.”
As I pull the clothes from the bag, Alex smiles and makes some kind of comment about each of them. He loves this color or that design and look at that tractor. I love that he’s excited and so animated.
“So, Mommy did good with your school clothes?”
“Yup.” Alex glances over at the T.V. and I know I’ve officially lost his attention. I hang the clothes in his closet and pick up the few toys he has lying on the ground.
“Mom, is it lunch time or dinner time?”
“It’s in between. Didn’t daddy make you lunch?”
“No!” He sighs and shakes his head. “Can I have a snack?”
“Of course. You’ve got to come downstairs and eat it though.”
“Oh, Mom!” Alex yells as he throws himself back against the bed. “Can’t I eat it up here and watch Paw Patrol?”
Shaking my head, “No, bud, you can’t. You know the rules.”
“The rules are dumb.”
“Alex,” I warn.
“I just want to watch this and eat.”
I shut the T.V. off. “Let’s go.”
Alex stomps down the stairs behind me and now I’m annoyed even more that Jackson couldn’t even bother to feed his damn son lunch for crying the hell out loud. Alex requests popcorn which I pop in the microwave as I turn to get him a drink while I wait for it. When it’s done I place it in a bowl in front of his chair, expecting another sigh because he wanted to eat and watch this in his room. “I’ll be right back. Stay here and eat.”
I don’t even think the kid heard me because his eyes are trained on the T.V. in the living room which he can see from the table.
Walking out into the garage I find Jackson wiping off his tools. “Did you feed Alex lunch while I was gone like I asked?”
Jackson puts the wrench down in the drawer in a perfect line with the other tools, all I can think of are Alex’s little toy soldiers lining up and preparing for battle, similar to how my emotions are right now knowing I have to deal with Jackson. “He didn’t tell me he was hungry.”
“Jackson! He’s five! You’re his damn father, it’s your responsibility to feed him lunch.”
He grabs another tool. I want to rip it from his damn hands and throw it at his head. “You could have stayed home, fed him lunch, then went shopping.”
If looks could kill, my husband would be dead right now. “You’re kidding me, right?” I cross my arms over my chest. “I’m with him every single day of the week. I went out with your sister for three hours to go clothes shopping for Alex and food shopping for the week. You couldn’t have handled getting him lunch?”
Jackson turns his head to look at me but doesn’t move his body. His eyes are dark and brooding. I’ve been getting these looks more and more lately and I don’t understand why. “You do nothing all day, every day, while I’m at work busting my ass to make us money. Get off my fucking case, will you?” he snaps.
I bite down on my lip nodding my head as I turn and walk back into the house. If this is the way he wants to play, that’s fine. Two can play his game. He’s in the dog house now, he knows it but if he doesn’t he’ll surely find out soon enough.
A few hours later I get Alex changed and cleaned up so we can go meet Elle and Andrew for dinner at the little Mexican place not far from here. Jackson still hasn’t come in the house to take a shower and we need to leave in ten minutes. I’m not reminding him and, God forbid that I do, he’d tell me to get off his case anyway. So, fuck him.
“Alex, Mommy is going to go change into jeans. Be right back, okay?” Alex plops down on his butt with his little toy car. “Alex?”
“Alright!”
I shake my head and walk out of his room. What the hell is it with the men in this house! I pull out my favorite pair of jeans and toss them on the bed. Just as I’m pulling my yoga pants down I hear the door to the garage slam shut. If he thinks I’m waiting for him he has another thing coming. Asshole.
I walk into the bathroom and brush out my long brown hair before Jackson comes in to take a shower and locks me out. When I step out I hear Jackson apologize to Alex for not getting him lunch. Damn right, he better.
Just as I reach the bed, the door opens and Jackson steps in. His eyes go right to my body like they always do. That’s right, asshole, look all you want because you aren’t touching shit.
Jackson clears his throat. “I’m sorry I snapped at you.”
I nod once, pull on my jeans and slip back into my Tom’s. Glancing over to the cable box to see that it’s time to go. I walk out of the bedroom without even a backwards glance.
“Come on, bud, we have to go meet Grandma and Grandpa at La Esperanza.”
Alex jumps from his bed and follows me down the stairs.
“Is Daddy coming?”
“I’m not sure. Maybe he’ll meet us there.”
Alex frowns but says nothing else.
When we pull up to the restaurant, Elle and Andrew are already in the parking lot waiting for us. They are rarely late, thanks to Andrew’s OCD about being prompt for everything.
“Grandma!” Alex shouts from the back seat. Before I even get the key out of the ignition he’s got his seatbelt off and is climbing up front.
“Jeez, Alex, you never get that excited when you see me,” I tease.
He gives me one of his killer smiles that always melts my heart.
We both climb out of the car and meet Elle and Andrew. Elle leans in and kisses me on the cheek. “Hello, sweetheart. Is Jackson not joining us?”
I shrug my shoulders as Elle bends down to pick up Alex. “I guess not since he wasn’t ready to go.”
Andrew nods. “I thought since it was Saturday night he wouldn’t be so busy with work.”
“Yeah, me too.” I mutter following behind them into the restaurant.
After dinner is over I’m in an even more pissy mood than I was when I got to the restaurant. Jackson never showed up and I refuse to make excuses for him. It shouldn’t surprise me that he didn’t show but a little piece of me was really hoping he would. I glance in the rearview mirror as I pull onto the street and see that Alex is knocked out cold. Now I just have to get him in the house without waking him up. If he gets up now he’ll be up till midnight and I’m too tired to stay up that late with him.
I pull into the driveway and, surprise, surprise, Jackson’s truck is gone. “Figures,” I mutter.
Opening my car door I shut it as quietly as I can. I open Alex’s door and get him into my arms; thankfully, he doesn’t even stir. Getting the front door unlocked was a little tricky but I managed. As I walk up the stairs to his room I slip off his shoes and decide to just leave him in his clothes since kids rarely care what they sleep in and these are comfortable enough and not too hot.
I sigh and lean against his door for just a second. Where in the hell did Jackson go now? Every time he slips away from the house I never know and when I ask about it in the morning it starts a fight. The idea of fighting with him makes my skin crawl because half the time it’s not worth it. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about our marriage lately and I’m beginning to wonder it it’s heading for divorce. Jackson just isn’t the same man he used to be. I’m not exactly sure when that change happened but if we can’t get it back on course we’re going to fall off the ledge and there will be no fixing it. There is a time when things aren’t reparable and we are fast approaching that stage.
Climbing into bed alone, once again, is becoming normal to me but tonight I decide to lock the door so that Jackson can’t get in. I’m not even sure if he’ll try but if he does he’ll know I mean business this time because I’ve never done something like this before.
Need To Love You will be Jackson & Chloe's story and will release sometime in the early fall.
