Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000031_00006]
Synopsis
Fast. That’s how I like life, especially my two great joys: bikes and women. I’m committed to exclusively riding one, but not the other. Until April. A sexy-arse freelance photographer who’s travelled the world, and doesn’t do long walks on the beach or romantic candlelit dinners. She enjoys running with the bulls and food spicy enough to make your hair fall out. If that weren’t enough to get me hard, she rides a mean mother of a motorcycle. I’ve gotta have a taste of this wildcat.
~Spencer (Jones)
I don’t do fast. Not anymore. I’ve got my career, my independence, and since I fled Spain to come back home I promised myself that I wouldn’t be put second—or third, for that matter—again. Then I meet pretty boy Spencer. He’s smooth, oozing the most potent pheromones probably known to modern science, and he’s making a move on me. One kiss was almost enough for my promise to dissolve. My head says no—my treacherous body screams yes. I’m gonna make Spencer work for it. Make him fight for the chance to have me, because I know that deep down I’m worth it.
~April MacIntyre
Prologue
SPENCER (JONES)
My head pounds, alerting me to the fact that I’m alive. Barely. I run my hand over my bare chest to find a set of fingers clad with rings. The hand tightens, sharp nails scratching my skin as they sweep over my ribs. I shudder with the realisation that she’s still here. That was not part of the plan. Her hand continues over to my hipbone, and curls around my side. I turn to see her face buried in the pillow beside me, a cascade of fiery red curls tangled down her back, a strong contrast to her pale skin. I strain to lift my head off the pillow, and there he is. Ryan. On the far edge of my king-sized bed, face down, bare arse and all. I’m here again. My life on repeat. My liver screams out its hate for me, and my body aches in silent protest. And why the fuck is my arse sore? I wriggle to release myself from her hold. I don’t like them to stay, but Ryan and I were obviously too fucked-up to care. I must’ve passed out, because normally I deal with their exit. I don’t do mornings. I don’t do awkward. I like simple hook-ups, and then “see ya”; No expectations, no complications. This here looks complicated. Walking naked across my bedroom, the floor littered with condom wrappers and clothes, I pick up a rogue black leather shoe and throw it at Ryan’s arse. He chokes on his snore, and stirs. “Hey, what the fuck, man?” He rolls over, thankfully tugging the tangled sheets with him to shield his dick. I don’t need a vision of his giant cock in the back of my head today. “What’s up is that you and Princess Redhead need to leave, buddy. I gotta get to work,” I whisper loudly. Working for Dad today is totally gonna blow. Ryan swings his legs off the bed, and stretches his arms over his head. “Well, you never fail to disappoint, man. Guess I’ll catch ya next time I’m in town.” I take a white crumpled towel that I must have left on the floor yesterday and wrap it around my hips. “That depends, mate. If you’re the reason my arse is sore, then this was the last time. Oh, and you might just get the shit kicked out of you.” He chuckles quietly to himself. “You don’t remember?” He grabs his jeans from the floor in front of him, and slips them on. “Remember what?” Oh no. Ryan did not go there. I’ll kill him. On instinct, my teeth grind against each other, and I breathe out heavily through my nose as I stalk towards him. He holds up a hand. “Relax,” he says, as he juts his chin towards the redhead. “Miss Ginger Sex Fiend over there brought toys.” “Fuck,” I gasp. I’ve seriously gotta lay off the drink. “Now, get outta here. I’ll take care of Ginger.” Ryan winks, and runs his hands through his mussed up sandy-coloured hair. Yeah. I need to get to work. MY Review  5 Stars

Chelle Bliss, wow! When we thought you smashed it out of the park with Hook Me, you give us Resist Me. Characters like Izzy and James had us devouring your book...
Each book in this series just gets better and better.

Izzy isn't your typical female, she is tough and never holds back. Her sassy attitude and smart mouth often get her into trouble. She enjoys her casual hook ups, not wanting to settle for anything serious.

What she doesn't expect is a visitor from her past to challenge her and make her question what she thought she wanted.

Heading to Bike week for the weekend with her friend, Izzy is stuck in a situation, one where her smart mouth will not help, nor will her attitude. She's in so over her head that not even her charm can help.  After getting her ass saved by someone unexpected and a past one nighter, James. Izzy is challenged and starts to question everything she thought she wanted and how she feels about relationships.

"James was...how do I say it? Hot as Fu@k, but a little too bossy for my liking."

James Caldo (Yes ladies, swoon!) where to start with this delicious man. He is alpha, cocky and doesn't hold back. He is a more than worthy opponent for Izzy, he doesn't take her shit.

"I love that fu@king smartness mouth if yours. When you get mouthy, it makes me rock fu@king hard."

Her sassy attitude and smart mouth is refreshing to him, she pulls him up on his cocky ways and doesn't give in easy. The constant pushing him away only brings out his inner caveman.

"I want that body destroyed by the time I head home. I want you to remember who owns that pussy."

Their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS and their relationship is intensifying. But when Izzy realizes that things are getting serious, she does what she thinks is best and pushes James away. She is trying to stay away from men like him.

Will he fight for her? Or walk away from her stubborn ass ways?

Dying for more we are eagerly (and impatiently) awaiting Thomas's book and cannot wait to see the journey Chelle will take us on. Congratulations on a fantastic addition to the Men of Inked series.

Excerpt:

“I need to undress,” she said, tapping her foot as she stared at me. “I don’t have my bag of clothes and I can’t wear this shit to bed.”
“I’ve seen it all.”
Her clothing didn’t do much to hide what I already knew lay underneath. The skintight jeans that narrowed around her ankle just above the black high heels had my dick aching. I wanted to feel the bite of them against my skin as I pounded into her.
“I was drunk,” she groaned, her eyes growing into little slits.
“Are you saying I took advantage of you?” She couldn’t be fucking serious. I didn’t do that shit. She’d wanted it as much as I had. I’d known from the moment she’d called me Jimmy that she’d wanted me. I’d known enough about her from Thomas that I’d had her MO down pat.
“I wasn’t thinking clearly. You aren’t my type.” She wrinkled her nose, twirling her finger like I was going to roll over like a dog and face the other way.
“Doll,” I teased.
“Fuck you and that ‘doll’ bullshit. Turn. The. Fuck. Around,” she hissed.

EXCERPT:

Picking it up, still shaking in my hands, a number I don’t recognize crosses the screen. Wavering on whether or not I want to chance this being something at the house, I hit ignore because I don’t want to be bothered with my dad’s so-called business today. Then thoughts of someone raiding or maybe some loser found out where my dad’s operation is. Worse case, someone ratted him out. Figuring someone who I have programmed in my phone would have made the phone call to alert me, I wait to see if they leave a voicemail. Which they do—my phone vibrates a second later.

Clicking speaker, I place the black rectangle on my dresser while I gel my hair. My fingers are manipulating each strand, placing it in the perfect spot when her voice comes across. My hands stop mid-air and I my eyes fixate on the phone. Closing my eyes, that sweet sound that’s only lived in my dreams the past years still unglues me to the core.   “Um … Dex. I’m in town and … um … I was wondering … if maybe we could … um … talk.” Her voice is practically shaking from the awkwardness of the phone call.

“HULK!” Brady screams again. Debating in my head what I should do, I could easily claim ignorance that I never got the call. Say that I was already out of town. Excuses run through my head as to why I would leave her wherever she is. Then the images of her alone, or worse, not. Knowing even with the distance that has formed between us over the years, I could never, would never, not go to her if she needed me.

Walking out my door, I peer over the railing to a sour Brady. “Man, I gotta do something. You guys go without me,” I shout down.

“What is so damn important?” he asks, sensitive to the fact he can tell something’s off with me. Brady is like the father of our friends, protective of us all.

“A friend needs me,” I say, remaining vague. If Brady knew the half of what I did when I leave this house, he’d probably have an anxiety attack.

He stands there staring up at me and wavers at the door. Probably counting in his head how long he has before Sadie, his fiancé, comes in search of him. “What’s up, man?” he asks, stepping up a few stairs.

“I’m not sure yet. I need to make a call.” I’m honest with him because Brady has a sense of comfort about him. Although, I’m fairly certain our secrets are shared with Sadie, he keeps things mostly to himself.

“Do that, and we’ll wait.” He jogs back down the steps, and the front door shuts behind him.

Sitting on my bed, I bite my lip. It’s been so long. Not that she hasn’t crossed my mind; I’m not sure a day goes by that I don’t wonder where she is and what’s she’s doing. I question why she left and never answered my calls. The guilt that I somehow left her behind always resonating inside somewhere within me even when she’s the one who disappeared. The small piece of electronics sits in my hands like a ten-pound weight. There’s no turning back, no erasing from my mind once I press that call icon.

Pushing back my fear, I press the call button, release a deep breath and bring the phone up to my ear. She answers on the first ring, confirming something is seriously wrong. “Dex,” she answers. Another stab of the knife that she still has my number programmed, but I don’t have her obviously changed number.

“Chrissy?” I say her name out loud for the first time in four years. How can her name seem foreign on my tongue?

The line is quiet for a few seconds before she continues. “Hi. I’m in Western … at this place called The Loft. Could you come down here?” she asks.

My Review

Peppers Winters can do dark like no other. The world of Nila and Jethro is dark and disturbing, yet completely captivating. I was intrigued by the first chapter and it just kept getting better. This book is unique, like nothing I've ever read before an i am eagerly anticipating the next installment!

Nila Weaver has lead a somewhat sheltered life, thanks to he overprotective father and brother. The story starts out with Nila's fashion show taking off. Her father introduces her to Jethro Hawk and tells her to go out with him. But Nila didm't realize that by agreeing to go out with Jethro she would be changing the course of her life forever.

Jethro Hawk is a ruthless man. He is good looking and mysterious, yet Nila can sense the danger that lurks beneath the surface. Jethro is there to collect Nila over a centuries old debt owed to his family by Nila's family. She is taken back to his family's compound in England where she learns about the debt and exactly what is expected of her at the compound.

This story is not for the faint of heart. It is dark and brutal and pushes the limits. The characters are complex and the plot is unique and well layed out. I loved the sexual tension that flowed between Nila and Jethro. Im really thinking that even as controlling and manipulating as he is, there are some redeeming qualities just under the surface. Of course there is a cliffhanger but i don't think the wait for the next book is to long. I can not wait to see where Pepper takes us next!

Excerpt: Debt Inheritance:  Meet Jethro & Nila

ONE - Nina's POV
Huge disappointment, Ms. Weaver.” His cold glare sent a snowstorm wiping away the bonfire in my belly. “I’m done playing games, so cut the bullshit. Time to begin the day.” His voice gave no room for interpretation. A cold draft shot down my back.
My brief reprieve from debts and horrible Hawks was over. I’d been shown something I desperately wanted, but denied it because I failed to please him.
“You could teach me…show me how…” I couldn’t make eye contact with him. Mortification painted my cheeks for both admitting I was clueless and asking a monster to coach me.
Jethro laughed. “You think that will save you from what’s coming? Was that your little plan? To make me fuck you in the hopes I might feel something for you?”

**
TWO - Jethro's POV

I stood up slowly, clicking my tongue. “Ah, ah, ah, Ms. Weaver. Don’t take that tone with me. You’re the failure. You’re the prisoner. You take what I give you. You do not assume to have any say or authority. That includes listening to everything I deem important to tell you.” Ghosting to a stop in front of her, I murmured, “Is that quite understood?”
I flexed my muscles, welcoming back the soothing chillness of control. I hadn’t liked stepping outside my confines of civility. Things got messy when silence was disrupted. Things got rushed when tempers rose and curses flowed.
And I didn’t want to rush her undoing. I wanted to savour it. Devour it.

Then he nodded. “Congratulations.”
“On what?”
“You earned their respect.”
I snorted. “I don’t care.”
“I know.” A smile teased at the corners of his lips. “They saw that too and because of that, they fear you now.”

**EXCERPT**

“I may be an asshole, but I’m an asshole you can trust.” He smirked as he reached behind him and then placed a cold bottle in my hand. “I promise.” He took my other hand and led me back downstairs.
Maybe it wasn’t a great decision, but I gave in. The fight was always in me to survive and for once, I didn’t want to fight. I wanted to be watched over. If he volunteered for that position, so be it. Brian never watched over me. I watched over him and Jace had rarely been around.
When he sat on the couch, I curled up next to him and enjoyed my place among his group of friends. As the morning and afternoon passed by, I heard and saw the respect they had for Tray. They listened when he spoke. Everyone turned to him and no one ignored him. They genuinely liked him.
People had never genuinely liked Brian or Jace. Jace was feared. He was respected, but I didn’t know if anyone in his life liked him. It was the opposite for Brian. He was tolerated. He was a hothead. No one knew when he would explode and so he earned a reputation as being unpredictable. He was met with caution wherever he went.
It was an alien feeling, watching this different world unfold before me.
I liked it.
