My 5 Star Review
Ruckus is book 2 in the Sinners of Saint series by LJ Shen and is the story of Dean "Ruckus" Cole and Rosie, aka Baby LeBlanc. While it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend you Vicious and Defy first as it is our introduction to these incredible characters.
I absolutely LOVED this story. Rosie's character is so strong and independent, despite her illness. She was full of life and gave dean a run for his money. And Dean, never after reading Vicious did I expect for him to win my heart over the way he did. He was a playboy. He hid himself behind sex, drugs, and alcohol but behind that persona was a man who cared deeply, one who was afraid of rejection.
"Dean Cole was nothing like people pegged him. He was the worst kind of devil. One that hid behind a polite smile, preppy clothes, and good manners."
This story is told from past to present, spanning over 11 years.
"I’m about to rewrite the pages of our fucking history, baby.”
Their relationship was a whirlwind, breathtakingly beautiful. Dean never treated Rosie with caution, the way everyone else did. From a fun and unique friendship, something so much more developed. My heart broke for them and I don't think I've ever rooted for a relationship to work out the way I did for theirs.
LJ Shen's writing continues to amaze me with each new book being better than the last. I highly recommend this series. I picked this book up and couldn't put it down. 5 "Makes Me Feel Alive" Stars.
