Finding My
Way by Heidi McLaughlin
Coming April 2014
New Adult Contemporary Romance
The Beaumont Series, #4
My Review:
4 stars! I loved it!!! I'm a huge Heidi McLaughlin fan and she did not disappoint with this book! Plus, it's Liam....what more can you ask for?
I love Liam Page and was so excited to be able to get inside his head since this story is told from his POV. My heart broke for him in this story as we get to see a different side to him...not the rockstar hottie we came to love in Forever My Girl, but the high school senior trying to please everyone around him. The pressure he carried on his shoulders was unbelievable. He just wanted to be accepted for who he was, not for what he accomplished or for what was expected of him.
His love for Josie was undeniable, yet when it comes to the point where he leaves Josie and school to pursue HIS dreams, I understood. It didn't make it any less heartbreaking, but i got where he was coming from. He struggled to please everyone around him, namely his father who I now HATE, but never put his own wants and need first. "My destiny is in my hands except I can't grasp it. Every time I try, it slips through the sand." Leaving Josie was about doing something that he wanted, needed to do. It was his passion and no one, not even Josie could understand that.
I loved that we got to see Mason and Harrison in this book. It was sweet to see how Mason was with Kate in the beginning of their relationship. It was cool going back to the beginning to see how 4225 West was formed. "What's the West Part?" My last name so she can find me, I want to say, but don't." (Insert sappy tears here).
This book is a must read for any fan of McLaughlins. It brings a new light to the Liam Page that we all know and love. I dont think I could ever get enough of him. Im off to read Forever My Girl again now. LOL
