My 5 Star ReviewThis is a great edition to the Love Series. It can be read as a standalone but I think you should read the other books first just because they are so fabulous and you will get a feel for the characters Lucy (momma) and Evan before going into Let Love Be..
When Lucy loses her husband in a tragic accident, she is left to raise her soon to be born daughter alone. She goes through the motions of life, doing what she needs to do to survive, to take care of her daughter. But is that really living? The story shows the trials and tribulations, the ups and downs that Lucy faces as a single mother. By 9% into the story i had tears streaming down my face. Lucy pretty much gave up on love and focused on her daughter until she met Evan....
Being an FDNY firefighter, and working the World Trade Center site after 9/11, Evan has experienced his fair share of love and loss as well. Then he meets Lucy. They don't think they will see each other again but with a few pushes in the right direction from friends, their paths cross again. When he meets Lucy you can feel the connection between them. They are both unsure and scared, but will they decide to take a chance and just Let Love Be?
I really enjoyed this story. I normally read New Adult, so I wasn't sure that I would connect to the characters being that they are much older than I am, but i did! Melissa did a beautiful job of portraying the emotions felt by the characters. While the reader could immediately sense the connection between Lucy and Evan, the story flowed at a great pace and wasn't rushed in any way. This is a story of love, of loss, and second chances that i highly recommend!.
