Hold on tight, Abbi Glines. Sea Breeze Series (book 8)

Six years ago, Dewayne Falco's life changed. He lost someone he never expected to lose. Resigned to punish himself for something he felt he could have prevented, he goes through life without getting too close to anyone.

What he didn't expect was for the girl across the street to move back home and remind him of what they both lost: Dewayne's younger brother Dustin. However, when a miniature version of Dustin opens the door to greet him, Dewayne realizes he might not have lost everything after all.

Sienna Roy loved Dustin Falco most of her life. He was the boy next door, the high school basketball star and her best friend. But when his life was cut short, she realized he left a part of himself behind.

Now, she's back in Sea Breeze, thankful to have a home for her and Dustin's son, but not sure if she can ever forgive the people across the street who abandoned her when she needed them the most — The Falcos.

Betrayal, lies, and forbidden attraction might end Dewayne and Sienna's story before it's even begun.

Hold on Tight Krit because Dewayne Falco may just knock you off the top book boyfriend spot! I devoured this book. It was sweet, sexy and heartbreaking. I even had a few tears while reading it.

Dewayne Falco lost someone, someone who is irreplaceable. How do you move on after you lose your brother? Especially when you feel like you’re partially to blame for his life ending. The loss has followed him six years later to where the book really takes off. Told in dual POV, past and present we learn how hard life has been for him since he lost his brother.
Known as the town playboy, sleeping around, never committing, its easy for him. He works and party’s. But when a girl from his past comes back, she is sure to change everything Dewayne thought he knew.

Sienna Roy had her life ripped away from her when the love of her life, Dustin Falco tragically died. She was sent away and never seen again by her family and friends. That is until 6 years later she returns to Sea Breeze, but not alone, she has her and Dustin's amazing little boy. Thinking that everyone in Sea Breeze has abandoned her, she’s apprehensive of her arrival. When she slowly introduces herself back into the Falco family her life is not what she expected.

The underlying chemistry that has always been there between Dewayne and Sienna is put to the test, they can’t be any more than they are, they’re practically family!  But when they start spending more time together and the bond between nephew and uncle develops Sienna can't help but remember how things were before everything changed. She had feelings for him, he had feelings for her, did she choose the wrong brother?

I want to say so much more about this book then I have already said too much but I really don’t want to spoil it for anyone. But what I will say is that this had a completely different feel than any of the other Sea Breeze series books. It felt more mature, more developed, and I guess it is. The characters aren’t in college, they are older than the past books. I know in the past I said that Krit’s book was my favorite but this would have to be a close second if not on par with it.

Abbi gave me all the feels with this book, I was evoking everything that both of these characters were going through. The heartache Sienna experienced, the unbelievable betrayal from her family and the love from the Falco’s. Dewayne’s hurt, his love for his nephew, and a bond with his family that is so beautiful. A great read!
