When Aiden agrees to run the Mad Mucker—a twelve-mile muddy slog over an obstacle course—he’s expecting it to be a bit of a laugh. The training will be tough, but Aiden could use the motivation to regain some fitness.

Matt is the sexy cousin of one of Aiden’s coworkers and a last-minute addition to the team. When he agrees to train with Aiden, Aiden suddenly finds the prospect of regular workouts a lot more appealing.

Soon attraction flares, and they embark on an intense physical relationship. Matt doesn’t want to fall in love with a man, and Aiden doesn’t want to fall in love at all, but despite their insistence on no strings, they grow closer. As the day of the race approaches, time is running out for them to work out how they feel about each other.

I was so excited to receive an ARC for this book as I am a huge fan of Jay Northcote, I was the envy of a couple of my friends.

I love reading and supporting authors from the UK, being from the UK myself, I can totally understand the English sayings and slang that is used.

Now onto the book.....

Where do I start? We have all been in a position where you have been out on the lash and got so out of your face that everything seems like a good idea at the time and this was totally true for Aiden.  On a night out with Liv, his best friend and colleague, who not only had his Tequila head; he had also agreed to take part in the Mad Mucker.

No stranger to a bit of exercise, he used to play Rugby but an injury forced him to stop playing. He was out of the habit of running and after a puncture on his bike stopped him cycling to work causing his exercise regime had taken a nose dive. I mean who doesn't have excuses for avoiding exercise. Liv thinks that Aiden needs a training partner.

Enter Matt

Matt is the very gorgeous cousin of Liv who has just returned from Australia after breaking up with his girlfriend.

Disappointed that this hunk of a man was straight he decided what the hell he needed help and this man was willing to help him.

Training commenced

After a particular run and mud wrestle Aiden offers Matt to use his shower where whilst standing  in a towel watching Aiden dress Aiden realises Matt is not as straight as he thought.

Training becomes more appealing as the warm downs get very hot.

Its not all training hot sex and sunsets as Matt is not "Out" to anyone close to him and makes it clear to Aiden that this is a training partner-with-benefits with no strings.

Aiden likes this idea as he doesnt do relationships

Can Aiden and Matt keep the Training partner-with-benefits agreement or will they break  their rules for each other?

Jay lives just outside Bristol in the West of England, with her husband, two children, and two cats.
Jay comes from a family of writers, but she always used to believe that the gene for fiction writing had passed her by. She spent years only ever writing emails, articles, or website content.
One day, she decided to try and write a short story–just to see if she could–and found it rather addictive. She hasn’t stopped writing since.
Jay writes contemporary romance about men who fall in love with other men, usually set in or near her home town of Bristol. She enjoys the challenge of bringing the men in her head to life through her words.
