Wow!! Im a huge fan of Erika's and when i saw the title to this book I wanted in my hands immediately. This is one of those books that that you go into expecting one thing and wind up getting something totally different. And I mean different in the best way possible. How I became Lotus Raine is so different in comparison to anything else out there and as an avid reader that is something I crave. This book was a refreshing change.
Lucy Rodgers is introduced to us a conservative young woman trying to work her way up the ladder at her company. She's a hard worker and refuses to "put out" like some of her coworkers in order to get the assignment that could make her career. Being that her mom was a stripper and lacked good parenting skills, Lucy has made it her goal in life to be nothing like her mother. She learned about sex and sexual pleasure at a young age and has kept her desires buried deep inside out of fear that she will become her mother if she does enjoy it. Lucy finally gets the break she's been waiting for, but it was nothing like she expected it to be. Her assignment....to live with an ex porn star that is coming out of retirement for one week and document it.
That week's assignment will turn Lucy's world upside down, make her question things thats she's believed for so long. How I Became Lotus Raine, The Porn Star is a story of a a woman finding herself and setting herself free. It is a truly remarkable story of learning to let go and live the life you are meant to live. The story is told in past and present POV so you really get the full effect and the interview style was so unique. The characters are well developed and the plot intriguing. The chemistry between Brent and Lucy is so hot. And Brent is a porn star so of course the sex was Scorching. This book is full of some great one liners that will leave you laughing out loud. Erika seamlessly added the humor to a story with an emotional undertone.
Overall this is another phenomenal read from Erika Ashby! I will definitely be recommending this to my fellow book lovers.
